How Prophet Muhammad Was Able To Record Quranic Text Even Though He Could Not Read Nor Write
Quran is the spiritual text of the Islamic religion. Every Muslim follows the instructions of the Quran without any form of doubt in their heart. The revelation of the holy Quran took the period of 23 years and during this time, the holy prophet Muhammad got the revelation orally from his teacher, Angel Gabriel. The revelation began in the month of Ramadan when the holy prophet Muhammad was just 40 years of age.
According to several sources, the holy prophet Muhammad was an illiterate. Meaning he could neither read nor write. The prophet only had to deliver the message orally to his scribes during his time and they put it into text. It took the period of 610 to 632 for him to disseminate the message of the Quran in piecemeal to the scribe who then put the message into records.
Also, the complete compilation took place under the leadership of the Abubakar Assadiq and the team was led by Zayd. The second compilation which is known as standardization later took place when the growth of Islam became large and the recitation of the Quran was heard in different manner. The later compilation brought the uniformity as we have today.
